How about some Homemade Lollipops for Valentine’s Day! Make something special for all those on your Valentine’s Day lists! I will honestly say I have never tried to make homemade suckers as I did not realize how easy it actually is. I made these Homemade Lollipops up for the kiddos Valentine baskets a few weeks ago. I wrapped them their favorite flavors in some cellophane bags I picked up at the Dollar Store. I then tied them up with some Valentine Ribbon and a little Valentine note. I thought they were cute and special.
Homemade Lollipops for Valentine’s Day
These Heart Valentine suckers require so few ingredients. You probably have the items right in your pantry. Just drop in to Michael’s, Hobby Lobby or snag the mold on Amazon Candy Making Molds-Heart Lollipop. This is a great way to throw together a personalized treat. I will admit I had to suck on one after making them just to take me back to my childhood, ha ha!
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Water
1/3 cup Corn Syrup
1/8 of Unsweetened Kool Aid drink mix (cherry, Black Cherry, Pink Lemonade, etc.)
5 Lollipop Sticks
Spray mold with non stick cooking spray.
Place sticks in mold and put in freezer until ready to use.
In a large pan, combine sugar, water and corn syrup.
Cook on high until you get to 300 (hard crack stage).
Add 1/8 of the contents of the Kool-Aid packet (amount in packet varies based on flavor).
Remove from heat and stir for 1-2 minutes.
Pour into molds and allow to cool for 15 minutes before removing.
I used Kool-Aid to add some flavoring to the suckers . The recipe is pretty simple… sugar! I know the kids will love them and will be bouncing off the walls from all the sugar intake. Valentine’s Day is all about the candy ha ha!
