Did you know that you can make your own Homemade Chocolate Pudding with just a few ingredients and a few minutes of time? It’s actually quite simple. Plus homemade is so much better than store bought packages.
Homemade Chocolate Pudding
This homemade chocolate pudding has me reminiscing the days when I was just a little pipsqueak. I can remember going for lunch with my grandparents at the K-Mart diner. I was always anxious to finish up so I could enjoy one of those tasty pudding desserts that were in the dessert cabinet. Back in those days, desserts were quite simple. Usually pies, cookies and puddings that were available.
Now when we head out to eat, the dessert options are sometimes as big as the regular food menu. I LOVE extravagant desserts don’t get me wrong but sometimes it can be so difficult to choose which yummy dessert to order, ha ha.
This homemade chocolate pudding is so super simple. You most likely have everything right in your cabinets to whip up a quick batch. All that is needed is Cocoa, Sugar, Cornstarch, butter, milk and vanilla. Pretty darn simple!
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
1/4 cup Cornstarch
1/2 tsp Salt
4 cup Milk
2 tbsp Butter
2 tsp Vanilla
Whisk together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt in a medium pan.
Whisk in milk and bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly. Allow to cook for 2 minutes.
Remove from the heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
Transfer to serving dishes and chill.
Sometimes I like to whip up a batch of this yummy pudding to have for a simple after dinner dessert. It’s perfect. It’s something that most of my family will eat, it’s inexpensive, it’s quick and easy, plus it’s on the lighter side. One small dish for each of us and we have a super simple dessert. I feel like pudding is one of those “back to the basics” type desserts. Not crazy and fun, just simple and tasty. Does your family like to include dessert after your family dinners?
