Here is this week’s Couponing Tip: Let’s talk Stacking Coupons! What is it? How Will I save? What Stores allow Coupon Stacking?
Did you know that at some places you can use more than one coupon on an item? If your stores put out store coupons (not manufacturers coupons) you might want to check their policy. Some stores will allow you to use one store coupon plus one manufacture coupon to get a really good deal. When using a store coupon and a manufacturers coupon we couponers call this a “Stack”.
Coupon Stacking allows you to maximize your savings at many stores. Some stores that allow Coupon Stacking are Target, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and Meijer. Here is just a quick example of how you can save BIG with a coupon stack…
Example: If your store has cereal on sale for $1.88 a box and you have a $0.50 off manufacturers coupon then it would normally cost you $1.38. However, if your store also has a store coupon out for $1 off you can stack those (if your store allows) and you will pay just $.38 for that box of cereal.
When shopping at stores that allow stacking coupons you want to search the sale ad for great deals on items that you need, look for items that you already have manufacturer coupons for from your insert or online printables found here on CincyShopper.com Then search for store coupons and plan your shopping trip accordingly.
Check your coupons carefully to make sure they are for the same product. Not always will a store coupon be for the same exact product as the manufacture coupon, in that case, you cannot use them both.
Example: If the store coupon is for 12-16 oz lunchmeat but the manufacture coupon is for 7-9 oz lunchmeat you cannot stack them together for a great deal.
Most importantly how can you tell which is a store coupon and which is a manufacturer’s coupon? Manufacturer’s coupon will always say “Manufacturer’s Coupon” at the top of the coupon, it is put out by them for you to redeem on their products. Store coupons will usually say “Store Name Coupon” at the top and it’s put out by the store to redeem at their store on specific products. Happy Coupon Stacking, Save Bunches!
