How to Clean Your Flat Iron
Are you needing to know How to clean your Flat Iron? My daughter and I are constantly getting build up on our flat iron. Our hair is is very stubborn so I purchased a great Chi Flat Iron for us (the only iron we have tried that actually straightens our hair. We have had it for quite some time and it gets a ton of abuse. Being that good Flat Irons can be so pricey, I like to keep ours cleaned so that it lasts longer. It is really quite simple to keep your flat iron clean. Just grab your flat iron and give it a good cleaning with these simple ideas.
1. While it’s Warm: This method helps cleanup small amounts of buildup. Simply turn it on, let it heat up, then turn it off. Once it’s cooled down a bit but still warm, wipe it down with a damp paper towel.
2. Still Dirty?: Have no fear, there’s many things you can use around your house to take care of more serious buildup. You can use rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, ammonia, even regular spray on cleaners can be used to clean the plates of your flat iron. Just rub the plates with whatever the above things you have on hand and wipe clean with a damp paper towel.
3. Heavy Duty: For the gunk and buildup you just can’t get off, try baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Simply combine the two ingredients into a paste and rub it onto the plates. This will take care of any big buildup on your flat iron.
