I LOVE my Keurig but the cost of K-Cups can be such a budget buster so I was needing ways to save on K-Cups. Don’t you just love a freshly brewed cup of coffee? Single cup brewing machines such as the Kuerig coffee maker have made it easier than ever to enjoy a tasty cup of coffee in just seconds flat. But you may have noticed that this convenience comes at a price. A 12 pack of k-cups can run as high as $15 each, breaking down to more than $1 per k-cup. This can make you cringe and want to skip your favorite hot beverages all together, but the great news is, you don’t have to. There are still plenty of ways to save on your favorite k-cups and still enjoy the fast and easy beverages you love each day. Take a look below at 8 ways to save on K-cups and enjoy these nifty little wonders for less.
8 Ways to Save on K-Cups:
1. Shop Online.
Amazon is a hot spot for k-cups and with their subscribe and save option, you can enjoy your favorites for less. Get up to 15% off the regular price of k-cups and enjoy free shipping straight to your door. This is a great way to make sure you always have your favorite varieties on hand for less. Visit Amazon to learn more about their subscribe and save option. Also, consider grabbing big discounts and weekly Wednesday specials on many varieties of K-Cups at Cross Country Cafe.
2. Cut out those coupons…then be patient.
K-cup coupons are becoming more common, often popping up in Sunday papers as well as on the websites of stores such as Target. You can often find high value coupons for as much as $3 off one box. Save these when you find them and wait for a sale. When you see a box reduced to $9.99, use your $3/1 coupon and snag them for just $6.99. That is only about $0.50 cents per k-cup.
3. Stack your savings.
When a store offers a coupon for k-cups (Target and Walgreens often offers store coupons) then clip them and stack them with a manufacturer coupon. For example, if Target is running a sale on a 12 count box of k-cups for $9.99, and you print off their $1/1 coupon on their website, you can stack it with a $3/1 manufacturer coupon as well. In the end, your 12 count box will only cost around $5.99!
4. Find samples via the internet.
There are tons of generous k-cup samples available on Facebook. Like your favorite k-cup makers such as Green Mountain, Dunkin Donuts, and others. Many of these offer free samples via their pages and when they do, you typically get 2-4 samples to try. That is a great value! You can also do a Google search for k-cup free samples, and see what you can dig up. There are offers out there, you just need to find them!
5. Check discount grocers.
More and more discount grocers are carrying generic varieties of k-cups. Give these discounted cups a try and see how you like them. While you may have your name brand favorites, it is worth checking out the less pricier brands too to see if they are a good substitution for any of the prier brands. Aldi had a test run on K-Cups and I am hoping they bring them back as a regular item quite a bit cheaper than paying full price at another grocer.
6. Try Store Brands.
Test out the store brands to see if you care for the tastes. Store brand K-Cups are always quite a bit cheaper. A few weeks back we tried out the Kroger Simple Truth Coffee Pods and they are now one of my favorites. Store brands will quite often be included in weekly sales circulars. So stock up when you notice a sale.
7. Purchase in Bulk from Costco, Sam’s or BJ’s
If you are a series coffee drinker and have a membership to Costco, Sam’s or BJ’s consider purchasing your K-Cups in Bulk. You can usually score a great deal on many different brands and flavors of K-Cups in a large quantity saving you a huge discount.
8. Consider Using a Reusable K-Cup
When needing to cut back on our coffee expenses to better our budget we began using the My K-Cup. The My K-Cup is a reusable K-Cup that you use with your own ground coffee. We used it for months and months. It did the trick with cutting down on the budget but my coffee would consistently have grounds in it. Yuck! So recently I purchased the Cafe Cup Reusable Single Cup Pod- 4 Pack I found on Amazon. These Single pod cups have the BEST reviews and I personally recommend. I just purchase my Starbucks bagged coffee on sale with a coupon and now have a quick reusable and much cheaper alternative then purchasing K-Cups. I suggest giving these a try to help stretch your K-Cup Budget.
