How to Save on Soda
1. Know the cheapest times of year to stock up.
Super Bowl season, the 4th of July season and around Memorial Day are three of the best times of year to buy soda. You can typically soda on sale for the cheapest prices. Stock up during these three times so you have plenty to last you until the next sale cycle.
2. Scour for coupons.
It takes a little work, but you can find soda coupons. Look of course in your Sunday paper, but also check out the websites of soda companies. Individual retail stores may have printable coupons on their sites, or sometimes you can even find coupons directly on bottles or in blinkie machines next to the product. Keep your eyes peeled and you are sure to save.
3. Look for free with purchase coupons.
Often times, potato chip and other snack companies will offer free soda when you purchase one of their products. Keep your eyes out for these coupons and save. If you can find an additional coupon for the required item (such as the chips) you can always combine the two and save even more.
4. Consider generic.
There are so many generic soda brands out there that cost just pennies and taste as good as the name brand. Give these knock offs a try and see if you care for any of them. Find one you love and you can save big bucks in the long run. The Dollar and discount stores are consistent with pricing on generic brands and quite often offer 3 Liter jugs. Our family has tried many generic brands. We have always found that the 2 liter bottles instead of generic canned soda offer the best savings and taste.
5. Save your Points.
We drink Coke Products and save all of our points to score great items like gift cards and magazine subscriptions from MYCokeRewards. I am always excited to be able to spend my points and gain the bonus savings from drinking Coke Products.
6. Look for gift card with purchase offers.
Stores like Target often offer a $5 gift card good on your next purchase when you buy 2-3 select soda products. You can use coupons on this purchase as well, stacking your savings even more. Look at your Sunday sales fliers for these sorts of offers so you can at least snag a gift card to use on future soda purchases when you buy some in bulk. Again, don’t forget you can stack coupons with these offers, for example, if Target is offering a $5 gift card when you buy two 24 pack cases of Pepsi, you can use a $1 /1 coupon on each case for this scenario as well.
